Chapter 13

Delila scurried out of her living room, to warn her father of the terrible things happening. She flung herself into her father's office, to find that her father was watching the news already. Her looked into her eyes, and Delila took confidence that radiated from the eyes she stared into.

Delila nodded and trudged to her room. She picked a picture of her mother and herself. Her mom's soft blond hair and gentle gaze, stared into a younger version of Delila. Delila gently set it down on her bed. She dressed quickly, and asked her father if she could go out to the park. After an approval she walked to the park.

She bent over some flowers radiating pink, and soft yellow. She walked over to the rusty swings that were creaking and swaying to the wind. She sat on one and thought about when the time would come. Her cell phone rang, she looked to see who it was. It was Samantha, but Delila didn't answer. She continued to think. She thought about her mother, about her father, about Llia, Karisa, and Tesa. About Aset and Samantha. Delila shivered as she thought about Samantha, but why would that be. That cant be right, Samantha is my friend, but for some reason... no. Delila shook her head as to shake away the dark feeling.

Delila walked back to her house, and ignored her father's worried question. She sat on her bed, and stared into the picture of her mother and herself.

* * *

Samantha stared into a picture of her and Delila at her fifth birthday party. Samantha stormed away. She glared at the painting of her ancestor. She grabbed her coat and trudged to an Asian Chow. She stared at her egg roll, and sighed.

* * *

Delila screamed at the stars shinning bright, "WHY!!!!! WHY ME!!!!". Then she saw it, the Northern Star, in the Constellation. She knew it was time, she raced inside and ran into her father.

"Its time." her murmured.

Chapter 12

Delila cried as she closed her eyes, she thought of her meeting with Aset in only a matter of weeks. She stared into the gossamer light coming from the clock beside her bed. She sighed and silently breathed out, and slowly drifted into a deep slumber.

* * *

Samantha stared into the eyes of her ancestor, "No I will not do it!" Samantha screamed. The hooded figure chuckled.

"You don't have a chance, its your destiny. You will be the murderer of the one who defies me!" The hooded woman whispered in Samantha's ear. The woman stepped back and faded into the silent night. Samantha laid her head on the stone floor, and cried her self to sleep.

* * *

Delila walked into the pitch black cave, she knew what was coming an she knew that there was nothing she could do to stop the sea of blood from flowing, drowning her. But then she saw a light, one that was blinding. Delila closed her eyes, and as the light faded, she realized that her mother was standing right before her. "Mothe-...."

She was stopped by her mother placing her glowing white hand over Delila's mouth. "Listen my sweet," Marie explained, "Your time is coming to do what your ancestors have foretold. You are strong, but there is so much to learn. Remember trust in your self, and amazing things will happen." her mother's voice faded away. The light brightened, and then everything went black.

Delila woke up at peace, for once in a very long time. She walked to her living room and turned on her t.v. There was a news cast lady, telling of the havoc that reeked over the city of New York, New York. There was people being killed with no signs of being hurt, but the blood was drained from them. The city was in turmoil, and only Delila knew why. Aset.

How long would it be before Aset would kill Delila like all those innocent people.

Chapter 11

Days pass by slowly

your training is lowly

Your palms start to bleed

A warning you will heed

The moon starts to wax

And you can not relax

The day will be soon

You'll win, you assume

But be careful young star

and you will go far

if you heed my warning

your future as bright as morning

Chapter 10

"SURPRISE!" twenty people called out as Delila entered the park. Delila jumped and ran to hug Samantha whom was holding a deep purple small box. Delila was crying as she thanked Sammie. Sammie handed her the purple box. "Here, its your birthday present. I hoped you like it."

Delila opened the purple box and saw a necklace with a amethyst circle charm. "Its beautiful, thank you Sammie." Delila put it on and started crying again. They went to enjoy the cake and games. Delila then decided that this was the best birthday ever in her whole sixteen years. Delila followed Samantha to her house, where they had a sleep over.

The next morning Delila woke to mini explosions in her backyard. She ran, ready to use her powers. She relaxed when she saw that it was her dad practicing his Starpower. Delila relaxed with a smile on her face and trudged back to her house. She put on her bracelet and necklace. She walked around her kitchen and then grabbed a waffle.

Every thing will change, friends will become enemies, enemies will be vanquished, and all will perish by the next moon.

Delila fainted as she heard this, and everything went black.

* * *

Samantha sulked as she watched t.v., in the sitcom she was watching someone had just died. I'm going to die, I know I am. I gave that necklace to Delila, and it was tied to my life. I will die, and so will she, but at least she will live, she'll die and live.

Samantha walked to a picture of one of her ancestors, the woman in the picture wore a jet black flowing dress. Her short spiked black hair covered her eyes. Samantha sighed and carried on walking through her house. Life was empty knowing you were destined to kill your best friend and then die, though her grandmother didn't know that she would give up her life for her friend.

* * *

Delila woke and stumbled around not knowing what just happened. She fainted, right, and then what was the voice that made her faint. Another prophecy!!!! Delila tried to work this out, "'Everything will change, friends will become enemies, enemies will be van'- Aset will be defeated!" Delila said with a gasp, she felt light on air, then she remembered, "By the next moon, a month, I will have to face Aset in a month!"

Delila ran to her father, "Dad I-...."

"Yes I know, I heard, I cant believe we lost track of time!"

They spent the next days training, and training,and training. Delila grew tired soon, and as she looked into the night sky, she saw that the constellation was forming, just on more month. Delila sighed and fell asleep outside where no one would hear her cry to sleep.

Delila woke up with her eyes blood red, and stumbled her way to her father where she cried into his clothes. "Its OK darling, everything will be all right, we'll get through this together, don't worry." her father tried to comfort her.

But nothing could get Delila to stop worrying about everyone she loved.

Chapter 9

"Yes this is where the prophecy was cast about you Delila, this is where we were told you will save the galaxy." a women's voice behind Delila surprised her. She turned around to see two beautiful women, both with pure white hair, and in long white dresses. She realized that the two women were Karisa and Llia. She gasped, and stared wide eyed.

"Don't be scared Delila, we mean no harm, and we have come to help you with your training, we will take your training father then just the ordinary spells. Come with us" Karisa held out her hand and said each word with the pride of a mother over her child. Delila was immediately filled with lover for these ancestors of hers.

Delila followed them to a clearing surrounded by oak trees growing tall. Karisa took her hand and blew on it, sparkles like sapphires came out and landed on Delila's right hand, and formed a ten-point star. "This is the sign of the Starpower kingdom."

"Watch closely" Llia claimed, "Follow my exact movements." Llia took a step forward and murmured, "Wind that flows, Fire that burns, Water that soothes, Earth that steadies, Electric that sparks, and Psychic that controls, bring me the elements that shine like stars. Give me the power of the stars." and with that Llia shot out a power ball, that was white, but had shades of the colors of the rainbow, the colors of the elements.

The power ball knocked disintegrated five of the oak trees, which grew back immediately. "Now you try," Llia said. Delila stared in shock at her, how in the world was she supposed to do that!!!

Delila repeated the saying, and luckily she shoot out a power ball, though it was weak, and only knocked down half a tree. Delila moaned, while the two sisters giggled. Even her father and grandmother laughed. "Hey" Delila growled.

"Lighten up, that was perfect for a Star, I could never do that in my days of a Star." her father said. Delila smiled and perked up.

"You show great promise, you will have power father than anyone I have seen in centuries." Karisa smiled, and giggled. Delila felt filled with happiness. "Its time for you to go, Ill be seeing you soon."

Delila pouted and walked with her father, to the tree with the ten-point star, "Would you like to do the honers?" her father asked. Delila smiled, and pressed her right hand to the tree, and the passage opened up.

Light shined down on Delila, making her feel light and happy. "You know, its your sixteen birthday tomorrow and Samantha wants to meet you at the park tomorrow, I said you can go."
Delila forgot that her birthday, was tomorrow, life couldn't get any better!

"Thanks dad, I love you!" and with that they headed off toward their house.

* * *

"Wake up honey, come on I made pancakes, Delila!" Delila woke up to the screaming of her father's loving voice that was excited, and happy. Delila finally opened her eyes to see her father with a plate of burned pancakes, and a huge smile on his face. Delila crinkled her nose at the smell of burnt dough. "Yeah, I can t make them as good as your mother, but its tradition that you have pancakes on your birthday." his voice chocked at the reminder if her mother.

"Thanks dad, your the best! These actually aren't that bad!" they laughed together at the compliment of her father's cooking. "I love you dad!"

"Happy Birthday, I love too, Delila." their eyes met and they both smiled. "Here, here's your present." her father handed her a box. When Delila opened the box, she found a bracelet with a ten-point star charm on it. Delila eyes filled with tears as she hugged her father.

"This is the best birthday present ever!" Delila's phone rang, and she saw that Sammie had sent her a text telling her to meet her at the park.

"You go ahead, have fun at the park." her father said. Delila kissed him on the cheek and ran off.

Chapter 8

"Grandma!" Delila gasped she ran up to hug the frail old lady. Her eyes filled with tears, now she knew why she wasn't allowed to go to the funeral. All this time she thought it was because her parents didn't think she was ready. But now she knew there was no funeral. She was so happy she felt as though she was on cloud nine.

"Come with me, Delila we have many things to discuss." her grandmother held her hand as they walked along a path. "You are a Star, there are ten Stars at a time, if one dies he is replaced. There are ten Stars right now, you being the tenth to be given power, thus you are the Tenth Star. Then there are Comets, you can be a Comet if there is an open spot and you have proved yourself to have the power of the comets that shoot across the sky. There are five comets at a time. Then there are Moons, there are four Moons at a time. Then there are Suns, there are three at a time, and the ones that you know as Llia, Karisa, ans Tesa are the Suns of the Starpower kingdom. But there are only two Suns today, Llia and Karisa. Then the ultimate level, Galaxy Holder. There is only one at a time. But in the current time and ever since Tesa become Aset, there has been no Galaxy Holder.

"The galaxy is in turmoil without a third Sun and a Galaxy Holder. That is why Aset is known as a Black Whole around here." Delila stared in shock at this knowledge, and realized that she would have to save the galaxy from peril, since she was they key in the prophecy.

"Grandma, if father is a Comet, and I am a Star, what does that make you?" Delila asked.

"I am not in the ranks of the Starpower. I am a professor here at the University of Starpower, not like any University out there." She said with a giggle. "I teach the history of Starpower here to all willing to learn. I was not a Star because I was not one for violence. I was never interested in powers, instead I was intrigued by knowledge of my past, and here I am today."

"Wow that's so cool grandma." Delila murmured. She looked around her, and the huge dome building seemed to call to her, she started to walk toward it when someone stopped her.

"Not yet, your time will come, when your ready." Delila looked into her father's eyes as he said this. She nodded and continued to walk along the path. "Delila, come with me."

Delila followed her father to the base of a near by mountain, there was a pool filled with silver water. "This is where the prophecy was cast about you, this is the Starpool."

Chapter 7

A chill ran Delila's back. Were was she? She wondered about, not really doing anything. She stumbled over some twigs, and when she looked at her cut hands, the blood was oozing out her palms. She was losing to much blood! Then she was drowning, in blood. She panicked, swimming upward. When she broke the surface, she heard a blood-boiling scream. It was her mother's.

Delila screamed, and woke with terror glazed in her eyes. She ran outside, to her back porch. In the starless night she saw a body, a lifeless body. Delila ran to the body to see it was her mother's. Delila's tears fell into her mother's blond hair. Her father came rushing outside, tears in his eyes, too. He put his hand on Delila's shoulder.

When Delila lifted her head she saw a note, written in her mother's blood. It read: "Near the end of the eighth month, the Constellation will be ready, and that signifies my return to earth. You will meet me at the Polar Cave. You will know where because the Polar star will be above it, and the Polar star is in the Constellation. There I will end this prophecy, once and for all."

Delila looked at her father and nodded. This meant a whole lot more training, but she would not let her mother die in vain. No Aset would pay for this. Delila spent the night by her mother, while her father sat on the porch looking into the stars.

* * *

Delila looked at the ground as she walked, not really paying attention to what was going on around her. Then she ran into Samantha, who was also crying. "What's wrong, Sammie?" Delila asked wiping her tears.

"It turns out that my date last night was a prank. Some 11th grader name Derick did that, and Brady was in on it. I fell so embarrassed!" Sammie screamed, and leaned into Delila to cry some more.

"Its OK, Sammie. Don't cry, everything will be all right." But Delila's voice broke when she said that. Though she was relieved that Sammie did not notice. They walked together into a market place with lots of colors. They stumbled around not doing much when Delila got a call from her dad. "I got to go, Sammie, see you tomorrow!" And with that Delila was off.

"Hey, dad!" Delila called. She searched through the house to find he was not there. Delila's heart fluttered, and fear spread through her. She called again and again. Nothing. Then her phone beeped. It was a text message from her dad saying to meet her in the park. Delila sighed with relief. She walked to the park. When she arrived she saw her dad and raced off to see him.

"Now, Delila, do you know why I have brought you here?" He asked. Delila shook her head. "Well, I am about to bring you into a place of secrecy, a place where our ancestors have trained for centuries. It has been forgotten, except to those who live there, and the newest Stars and their mentors." He finished off with a smile on his face, as if her was remembering his own times.

Delila followed him into a forest. He then held out his palm, and a shimmering ten-point star appeared. He pressed to a tree with a drawn star carved into it. The tree glowed turquoise and a ten-point star appeared on the tree. A hole opened up and they stepped through. There was a large dome building, and many beautiful plants surrounded it. They walked around the building, and there was Delila's great grandmother, whom she thought to be dead.

Chapter 6

Sighing, Delila followed the trail that wound on and on. The sun was a glowing red, burning down on Delila's face. The trail took her to cave, pitch black. Delila squinted her eyes, finally deciding that she could not see, Delila wondered in. She put her hands on the wall of the cave and ventured further and further.

Suddenly, every thing opened up. Bright light burned Delia's eyes. She saw a clearing, and there was Aset, waiting for her, " 'A new star will save the Earth's destruction.' So you must be the new star. Very weird, my ever so great- granddaughter has told me so much about you. She was sent to spy for me. My hunch was correct you are the Tenth Star."

Delila awoke with fright, gripping her sides and breathing hard. She stumbled outside to where her father was reading the newspaper, "What can I do for you honey?" He asked. Delila sat beside him, and told him her dream. 'That's very interesting, we will have to start tr..."

"I am the Tenth Star in the prophecy." Delila asked.

"Yes, so you will have to face Aset in the end." A women's voice called. Delila's mom sat next to her placing her hand on her knee. "Sol, you listen to me. You better train her up good. Don't let any thing happen to my baby." A single tear rolled down Delila's mother's cheek.

"Don't worry Marie, nothing is gonna happen to our baby." Sol murmured. He wondered over to his desk, and began something. Delila leaned into her mother, and then got up. She slowly walked to her bus stop.

She met Samantha on the way, "Hey Sammie!" Delila called and ran to catch up. It was a typical school day. Delila who dozed off in Geography, again, dreamed of Aset. Screaming awake, Delila earned a detention.

That night, and the next, Delila's dreams were haunted by her enemy. She went to school, she had bags under her eyes. When the kids asked what happened, Delila replied, "I am sick." and with that the kids slowly scooted away, afraid of catching what ever Delila was diseased with.

Delia wondered to sleep, but this time every thing was different...

Chapter 5

"So what was your dad going totally crazy about?" Samantha asked, over her Ramon. Her face had an unusual glow under the luminescent light right above them, it read "Asian Chow". That was their favourite place to eat.

"Oh, you know... I did not do my homework for the past three nights." Delila quickly covered up. Though she knew Samantha could see through her lie.

"Right." Samantha sighed. "OMC! Guess what?" Samantha exclaimed with eagerness in her eyes. OMC, was their thing, it meant: Oh my crackers!

"What?

"Brady asked me out, just before you called!" Samantha smiled. She had been crushing on Brady since the fourth grade.

"OMC! That is SO freaking awesome! When is your first date?" Delila asked. She was so excited for her friend.

"Tomorrow, you got to come over and help me get ready!" Delila was after all the more girly of them two, Samantha being a goth. Most people wondered how they were the best of friends.

"Chokay." Delila answered.

Once they were done eating, they went to the mall. Samantha went to Hot Topic, and got black skinny jeans and a red and black blouse, along with red eyeshadow for her date. While Delila went to Charlotte Russe, and got a beautiful sundress plastered with many bright colors. Also heels to go with it.

They soon headed to Delila's house with an approval from both their parents for a sleep over. They watched movies, played cards, ate junk food, and told scary stories in till it was 5 a.m. They slept with silent snoring and mumbles in their sleep.

They spent the next morning resting in their pajamas, in till it was 5 p.m., that's when Samantha's make over started. Doing Samantha's nails and makeup Delila sighed, "I am so jealous! I love your hair, it is so cooperative." She finished up on Samantha's hair. I was pulled back into a ponytail that spiked, and hair sprayed. By the time they were done, it was 6:30 p.m.

"OMC! I am doing to be so late!" Samantha dashed off, giving Delila one last hug good bye.
"Wish me luck!"

"Good luck Sammie!" Delila called. Her mom called her to dinner, and with that Delila went inside. She felt happiness swelling inside her for her friend.

Chapter 4

Sobbing, Delila leaned over her bed, her brown hair tangled with tears. She grabbed her cell phone and quickly called Samantha. "Hey Sammie, its me, Delila. I am so sorry what happened today. I wish I could tell you, but I cant, not now any ways. Call be back later, bye."

Delila cried into her pillow. A knock on her door interrupted her. "Leave me alone dad!" Delila screamed. She sobbed harder, she had never argued with dad before.

"Honey, its me." a women's voice called. "Let me in please, and we can talk."

"Okay, the doors unlocked, mom." Delila sat up and wiped her tears away.

"Don't worry, I know your dad is just worried about you. He wants you to be the strongest you can be, so you wont get hurt, holding Starpower is very dangerous." her mom explained.

"Mom, you know about Starpower?" Delila asked, her mom was just another regular human.

"Yes honey, I know, your dad told me. Did you know that your father's brother, your uncle, died while fighting to protect the two sisters?" Delila's mom sighed.

"No, and now I'm sorry I yelled at dad. I should go talk to dad." Delila muttered, straighting her back.

"Yes, and I believe you and your father had a training scheduled." Delila's mom smiled.

"Thanks mom, bye. See you later." Delila kissed her mom on the cheek and headed for her father's office.

"Hey dad, I am so sorry for what happened earlier. Mom came and explained for me. So should we get to training?"

"Yes. Your mother always had a way with words. Lets go." her father said, with Delila on his heels.

"Now show me what we already covered. First fire spells, remember, you do not need to say the incantation out loud, but you may, if it will help." her father directed.

"Okay." Delila shout out one fireball from her hands.

"Good, now water."her dad directed.

The rest of the training included earth, wind and telepathy, which Delila struggled with.

"Good work, and since we finished early, I guess you have nothing to do but go out to eat with Samantha. Oh darn." her dad smiled with sarcasm in every word.

"Thanks dad!" Delila pecked her dad on the cheek and went off to call Samantha.

Chapter 3

"Delila, Delila, DELILA!", yelled Mrs. Mor. Delila picked up her head and continued her work. "If you wish to sleep, wait till you are in another class, like Geography. Now class what is alliteration?"

"Saying words with the same letter at the beginning." someone called out.

"Close enough, it is the repetition of consonant sounds in words that are close together in a poem, or the repetition of consonant sounds that are similar" Mrs. Mor corrected.

The class chuckled, then continued with their work.

The rush of voices was around Delila and Samantha as they ate lunch. "Delila, what happened? You were asleep in periods one, two, and three, pretty much up to now! Did you throw a party or something?"

"No, its just that my dad kept me up all night with all this Star... nothing." Delila said.

"What?"

"Nothing."

"Delila, I know your lying to me. Why wont you tell!?"

"Get out of my business!"

"Sorry, you know how I get. I wont let one little argument ruin 15 years of friendship." Samantha quickly said. "Lets get to orchestra."

Delila played the clarinet, while Samantha played percussion.

* * *

"So what do you want to do for dinner?" Samantha asked. Friday was the day Delila and Samantha had dinner.

"I don't know."

"Delila! Come hear!" Delila's dad yelled.

"Yes sir." muttered Delila. "Come on Sam."

"Sorry Sam, but you cant go out with Delila today."

"Oh, yes sir." Samantha sighed.

"DAD! That's not fair!" Delila yelled, but the door was closed on Samantha already.

"Listen Delila, you will do what I say without any complaint." her dad growled. "You will not go out, because you will be training tonight. You have to put your magical abilities before your friends."

"Well I didn't exactly ask for the power of the Tenth Star!" Delila screamed and slammed her bedroom door on her fathers face.

Chapter 2

Delila froze with shock, "Hey dad, you like that trick I did, I was practicing for the um... talent show thing, yeah." Delila's dad walked over to her surprise on his face.

He grabbed her hand, and started flipping it over and over, " The Tenth Star, it cant be. I thought the Starpower died out after it was given to me." he went on mumbling about stars and something about tree sisters. Then he looked at Delila with anger, and growled, "You listen to me, you can not tell any one about this, not even your best friend Samantha. You will learn the ways of our ancestors, the ways of the Starpower. You will need a mentor, even though it is not customary for a parent to teach their child, I will be your mentor."

"Um dad, that's great news, but what is Starpower?", Delila asked, not sure she had woken up.

"Its a long story, but okay." he started out. "In the 1700s three sisters walked along an old road. Those sisters' names were, Llia, the oldest, Karisa, the second oldest, and Tesa, the youngest. While walking, they saw a comet crash to the earth. The place was not far from where they were, so they went to investigate.

"They found the comet, it was a beauty to behold. The three sisters touched the comet, and were bestowed with magical powers. They learned the ways of Starpower, and grew to master the magical ability. Th great powers would run on for generation to generation. One sister, Tesa, sought out power. She thought she should turn the humans into a slave army.

"Llia and Karisa thought different. Enraged, Tesa left. She started the evil side of magic, she called it Anti-starpower, and was known on from then as Aset, Tesa backwards. Now when a new generation is born, they receive their powers at the age of 15. I thought the line died out with me, I guess not."

"Okay then", Delila managed to say, not following along exactly.

"Well then, lets star your training." he said, and left with Delila following.

Chapter 1

A young girl about the age of 15, lay in her bed. She tossed and turned with excitement. Only three more days of school in till a warm summer breeze swept to Florida beaches. She finally gave up on sleeping and sat up. As soon as that happened a blue light flashed.

She got up and wondered over to where the occasion happened, her backyard. She placed one hand on the knob of the door, and slowly turned, right there and then, everything stopped. She opened the door with caution, and a very strong breeze from outside surprised her. She walked outside, confused ans curious. Then she saw it. A magnificent constellation in the sky. It was a ten-point star made up of very little stars shimmering like sapphires. She walked towards it, and than stopped afraid.

Then something pushed her forward, the winds, much more gentle but still enough to sweep her under the center of the star. It slowly raised her into the air. A beautiful face appeared in the clouds," Dear Delila Carter, you have been chosen to hold the power of the Tenth Star." The face disappeared.

Then a lighting bolt hit Delila, "AAAHHH!"

* * *

Delila awoke with surprise, "What a weird dream!", she mumbled, and as she flicked her hand in the direction of a yellow cup on her night stand, it started floating to her. Delila did not blink, nor breath. "Maybe... no.", she finally muttered. She took a sip, and stumbled out of bed still not believing what just happened.

Grabbing a waffle and a glass of milk, Delila went out back. Her excuse of an apple tree, her science project, had sprouted one ripe apple. Waving her hand, that one apple floated towards her. Just then, her father came outside. He silently watched in till Delila noticed him, the apple fell.

"The Tenth Star," he muttered.

Preface

A shadow in the distance moaned, "When will the Constellation be ready?"

"Soon enough!" snapped a voice, "Sorry, its just that I'm worried about this whole prophecy. Karisa, what if it does not work?"

"How dare you say that Llia! Of course it will work! What has the Starpool told us, 'A new...'"

"' A new star will save the Earth's destruction.' I know, I know... alright, I've got to go. The Constellation is waiting.", mumbled Llia.

Llia smoothly spread her right hand palm down, there was a shimmering ten-point star. The wind picked up, and soon she disappeared.

The Tenth Star!

The Tenth Star is a novel I am writing, and I wanted to post it so all you people could read it! I hope you enjoy! This story, I had in my dreams, then started to write!
